With its idyllic location, mellow Northumberland stone exterior, well-manicured golf courses and good quality pool facilities, this could be a great hotel.
Our suite (room 123), with its corner position, was large with a good sized bedroom and en-suite, which had a separate bath and shower. There were excellent views over the golf courses and surrounding countryside. The lounge part, which also had its own toilet facilities, included a sofa bed and a fold-away bed, ideal for the grandchildren!
Where this hotel lets itself down was the extremely uncomfortable bed, average quality food ( we dined in the Hadrian's Brasserie) and rather tired interior furnishings.
There was also a distinct lack of finesse and a general unhappiness among some of the waiting staff and this showed in the quality of service provided.
Overall we had an enjoyable stay and the grandchildren certainly enjoyed themselves.
This hotel is ideal for golfers and families.
