Great for families, walkers, mountain bikers, fishing, golf, beaches, scenery, historical interests. The village is quite retro but has a quaint appeal, don't expect too much commercialism but more quiet holiday, although there is a night life to be had with family fun and games. Annual Lighthouse Gala in July is always a good day out. Village is located with god access to other attractions and areas of Dumfries and Galloway and enjoys a championship level golf course, there is also a fun course for the occasional golfer or starter.
Several locations with a historical interest also wildlife and bird sanctuary nearby. Great location for family memory making with extensive views over the Solway to the Cumbrian Fells.
