Spent 5 wonderful relaxing days in Riomaggiore. The hotel is located halfway up the dauntingly steep main street. Check-in to your left. Apartments are located across the street. A gift shop is located just outside the large heavy (medieval looking) double green doors that allow entry to the winding steep steps (43 of them to our room!). Our room overlooked the main street. Watching the tourists come and go all day is a passtime enjoyed by permanent as well as transients such as ourselves. The bathroom was quite small and included a bideau (sp) next to the toliet. The shower stall was excuciatingly small - but the bathroom was modern and fully tiled. A small TV was attached to the wall mounted high near the ceiling the ceiling. I know Italians are not big on breakfast but after the first morning we had coffee and croissants at nearby restaurants. The management were quite pleasant. We spent our days exploring the little town and enjoyed it's charm. Lot's to see & do.
